What is the meaning of "it's an experience" ?

Main Post:

What's the phrase "it's an experience" mean and how is it used?

For example, I heard someone say to someone else the following after sitting down in a chair:

Friend A: This is the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in, you should try sitting in it!"

Friend B: Oh, is it an experience?

or

"I recommend you listen to that track. It's not a song, it's an experience."

I'm new to Reddit. I've heard a lot about it and there's obviously a lot of stuff to look at, but I'm wondering what advice people have for getting the best out of using Reddit as a newbie?

Experience of Being

Main Post:

Late 40s male, family man in a successful career, no health concerns.

So I've always felt alone. Even when in love or riding the waves of outward happiness, raising happy children and playing with them in parks, I've never really been too far from the shores of despair. It has always felt as if true reality is darkness and moments of joy are merely the temporarily distracting rays of sunlight.

I've never known true fulfillment or lasting happiness a single day in my life. I've only caught fleeting glimpses of happiness, like watching a rainbow disappear rapidly before your eyes. You enjoy the rainbow but you know it's fading. I have always lived in this constant state of quiet desperation punctuated either by instances of joy as comic relief or bouts of fatalistic doom as the flipside of that coin.

Through life's ups and downs, I'm kept afloat by a naturally buoyant tenacity that helps ensure nothing can damage the well-protected core of my sense of self.

I must ask: Is that how most people's true, inner states of mind are? Or is it just me? I'm not depressed or sad or nihilistic. It's as if I've just always been on the fence with the whole business of being. But I play along, because I'm here.

It's the overthinking types of people that tend to find it difficult to be happy in the present moment of happiness. It's fleeting because intrusive thoughts are always shadowing every moment. Hard to find people that feel the same, harder to broach the subject and open a conversation on a deeper level beyond the ordinary superficial nonsense.
